Re: 3 VL70m

You are correct that the PLG cards in the S90 can only listen to one midi channel (when S90 is in voice mode)... VL-Wizard can only route the appropriate VL path (sysex) to the PLGVL card based on the Device ID number of that PLGVL card. With other words. all your PLGVL cards in the S90 are listenin...

Re: 3 VL70m

About the S90ex....I have the S90 (a version below) This is all tricky stuff....but let me try to explain The first thing to check is the version of your VL-Wizard. You need 5.0.5b3 When all communication is correctly setup and your S90 is set to Voice mode then the VL-Wizard welcome message should ...

Re: Yamaha VP1 Voices

Yes, it is a bizarre type of modifier...I checked all of the yamaha patents and nothing is referring to the IE.. so, Yamaha might probable refer to this in patents using another name or it is covered by the Aphex patents.... I'm digging deeper into this...

Re: Yamaha VP1 Voices

OK...I will see if I can find some time to make some recordings of notes with IE enabled / disabled.. Keep up the good work....guys like you push the world of synths a step further... Voila, I quickly recorded some notes . first note you hear is without IE the second is with IE. I disabled all other...

Re: Yamaha VP1 Voices

I did contact the owners of the VP1 synths for information etc... never received a reply. I'm pretty convinced that the VP1 is actually a polyphonic VL1. Wish I could get hold of the SysEx structure /data list / patches of that synth so I could compare and convert. The only doc I have is the VL1 per...

Re: Controller setting for Yamaha Ex5

Yes, the EX5 is a real powerhouse. But this synth has still a considerable amount of secrets for me... On the VL-Wizard interface the assignment of controllers to parameters appears to be ignored by the EX5 Correct, the VL-Wizard Controller assignment is not compatible with the EX5. So this must be ...

Re: VL-SOUND DESIGN GUIDELINES by Manny Fernandez

The orginal Visual Editor (VED) can be found here.. https://europe.yamaha.com/en/support/updates/52083_en.html The VED is actually an attempt from YAMAHA to simplify the editing of the large amount of VL parameters by providing template voices The VL-Wizard includes all these template voices. Simply...

Re: VL Device Production Volumes

I did get my VL1 for 1200Euro + shipment

The VL1m (rack) is going typically between 1700 en 2200Euro

The VL7 is less expensive

A tool I use frequently to search is http://www.gearhunter.net/

I'm waiting now for my MU128 that I got for 89Euro + shipment.

A MU2000 is also a nice solution.
