After each restart I need to re-enter my key and all my settings are lost.

This problem is sometimes occurring on MAC computers where priveleges are set differently

The way to solve this is to ensure that the VL-Wizard application has READ/WRITE authorization.

Step 1: go to the /Application folder and locate the VL-Wizard application
Step 2: right click on the VL-Wizard icon and select "GET INFO"
Step 3: ensure Privelege settings for (Me) and Everyone are set to "Read/Write".
