PLG150-VL Piano tone with VL Voice
Hi Rudy, When I use the VL-Wizard editor I get a Piano tone at the same time as I get the VL Voice playing. I haven't been able to determine where it's coming from. I muted all of the other channels on the MU2000, I made sure the keyboard I am using is at zero volume, I made sure the computer is onl...

Re: Patches Yamaha VL1
0:18 I think is just the factory Shakuhachi patch A03.
Since the video is only 3:55 long, there isn't a 4:10 to listen to.
The 3:10 patch could be the JetLipBow A13.

Re: Yamaha VP1 Voices
Thanks Rudy. The results are puzzling, the harmonics are all linear with both the Impulse Expander on and off, no difference in the frequencies. The amplitudes are altered, but not the frequencies. I was wrong, the Impulse Expander is not responsible for the geometric harmonic fans, it's a new chara...

Re: Yamaha VP1 Voices
Hi Rudy, Yes, that's me on the YamahaMusicians Forum. I think the Impulse Expander is responsible for the geometric harmonic series on the VP1. I could confirm that if I had a recording of a few notes played using an Impulse Expander patch on the Yamaha VL1. I have an MU2000 with two PLG150-VL cards...

Yamaha VP1 Voices
Has anyone ever attempted to replicate any of the Yamaha VP1 voices using a VL instrument or card? I've attempted it on a few voices using a Yamaha FS1R, but I can't seem to get the timbre quite right. I've been working on the FS1R and haven't gotten around to learning how to program with VLWizard y...

Re: VL Device Production Volumes
I wish I could get my hands on a VL1m, but they're rare and expensive. I put together a less expensive version using an MU2000 and two PLG150-VL cards. I'm just starting to get my head around it.

Re: VL Device Production Volumes
Hi Rudy, I know of a way to estimate production volumes. Pick an instrument (you can get access to several of the same model sometimes on eBay) and get the serial numbers. The numbers on average are in the middle of the production run. Take the average and multiply by 2 to get an approximate product...
